DHS says Walmart murder suspect entered U.S. through Biden-era parole program
- Jean-Louis faces murder and firearms charges in Cooper’s Oct. 21 killing outside a Walmart in Cheltenham Township.
- Prosecutors say Jean-Louis and Cooper entered a marriage to help him obtain a green card, but authorities rejected the application as illegitimate in July; investigators say he later sought Cooper’s work schedule.
- Phone records allegedly placed Jean-Louis at the store around the time of the shooting, and investigators say they recovered .22-caliber ammunition where he was arrested.
- DHS says Jean-Louis entered through the parole program for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela and that ICE arrested him on Oct. 23; he is held without bail.
