UN-commissioned experts say Israel’s actions in Gaza remain genocidal despite ceasefire
- The commission said Israeli forces controlled at least 60% of Gaza by the time of its report, up from 53% when the ceasefire was signed in October 2025.
- It said Israeli fire since the ceasefire began killed at least 196 Palestinians, including women and children.
- The report also accused Israeli forces and prison guards of torture, rape and other crimes against humanity in the West Bank and against detainees from Gaza.
- Israel’s mission in Geneva called for the commission to be dissolved and described the report as misinformation; Israel denies the genocide and sexual-assault allegations.
