Lianyong Wei Dies in ICE Custody Amid Ongoing Investigations

Lianyong Wei, a 51-year-old Chinese immigrant, died on August 23, shortly after being taken into ICE custody in the Northern Mariana Islands.
Wei was arrested on August 21 on criminal charges and was found unresponsive by a guard during routine checks.
The cause of death is under investigation, and ICE has not confirmed if he received a required health screening within the first 12 hours of detention.
