Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's Trial Set for June 2028 Following Rejected Plea Deal

A military judge has set the trial for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and three co-defendants for June 5, 2028.
The trial's start date was pushed back from a sought January 2027 date due to the need for more preparation time.
Mohammed, who has been detained at Guantánamo Bay since 2006, had a plea deal rejected last summer that would have allowed him to avoid a death-penalty trial.
The trial will also include alleged accomplices Walid bin Attash, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali, and Mustafa al-Hawsawi.
