Security Officers Mistake Invited Media for Intruders at Vandenberg Space Force Base

Five reporters and two military members were mistakenly held at gunpoint by security officers who believed they were unauthorized entrants.
The incident occurred before a groundbreaking ceremony for a new training facility for missile operators.
A review of media coordination processes has been ordered by the installation commander following the incident.
All individuals were released after about 30 minutes without further incident.
