Justice Department Charges 11 in Major Marriage Fraud Scheme

The scheme, which ran from 2016 to July 2026, involved payments of up to $100,000 for sham marriages, with U.S. citizens receiving up to $30,000 for their participation.
The operation included facilitators, recruiters, and officiants, and utilized staged photos and coaching to deceive immigration authorities.
