US Military Fires Missiles on M/V Vela Nova for Breaching Blockade

A US Navy helicopter fired missiles into the engine room of the M/V Vela Nova, disabling the ship after it ignored multiple warnings in the Gulf of Oman.
The vessel was attempting to breach the US blockade on Iranian ports, which has been in place since April.
The US military has redirected 55 vessels and disabled three ships for non-compliance with the blockade.
