New Mexico AG Sues to Repatriate Teen Left at Border by Foster Care Staff

New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez filed a lawsuit against the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) over a 15-year-old being forced to cross into Mexico alone.
The complaint details that CYFD staff allegedly instructed the teen to cross the border to reunite with his mother, who was deported earlier this year.
Torrez is seeking a temporary restraining order to block future removals of children without court orders, citing systemic failures within the state's foster care system.
