Trump Administration Admits Cancelling $7.5 Billion in Clean Energy Grants Based on Political Affiliation

The Department of Energy admitted that it canceled approximately $7.5 billion in clean energy funding solely because the grants were linked to states that voted for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in 2024.
Of the 624 grants identified for termination, 284 were canceled, while 340 were not, highlighting the political nature of the decision based on the states' electoral votes.
