New Charges Filed Against Alleged D.C. National Guard Shooter

Rahmanullah Lakanwal faces eight new charges, including murder and firearm offenses, which could lead to the death penalty.
A grand jury found that Lakanwal intentionally killed Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom and attempted to kill others during the ambush.
Lakanwal, an Afghan national, was paroled into the U.S. in 2021 and had his asylum application granted last year.
