House removes pesticide provisions from farm bill
- The House voted 280-142 to strip provisions that would have protected pesticide manufacturers from liability, led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna.
- Opponents, including Rep. Chellie Pingree, argued the provisions prioritized corporate profits over public health and state rights.
- The broader farm bill passed with a vote of 224-200 and now moves to the Senate for consideration.
