James Talarico Leads in Texas Senate Race Polls

James Talarico, a Democratic state legislator, leads John Cornyn by 44% to 41% in a head-to-head matchup, according to a Texas Public Opinion Research poll.
Talarico also holds a five-point lead over Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general, with 46% to Paxton's 41%.
Support from Black, Latino, and college-educated voters is driving Talarico's lead, along with strong backing from moderate and independent voters.
