U.S. soldier charged for insider betting on Maduro raid
- Gannon Ken Van Dyke, 38, has been charged with multiple counts including wire fraud and unlawful use of confidential government information after betting on the outcome of Operation Absolute Resolve.
- He allegedly placed over $33,000 in bets on Polymarket, winning more than $409,000 when Nicolás Maduro's capture was announced on January 3.
- Van Dyke was involved in the planning and execution of the operation and had access to classified information, which he misused for personal gain.
