Trump to sign executive order on ibogaine research

President Trump is expected to sign an executive order to encourage federal research on ibogaine, a psychedelic used abroad for treating opioid withdrawal and PTSD.
The order will not seek to reclassify ibogaine, which remains a Schedule I drug with no accepted medical use in the U.S.
Ibogaine has notable supporters, including former Texas Governor Rick Perry and former Senator Kyrsten Sinema, highlighting its growing interest as an alternative treatment.
