First Group of Deportees Arrives in Uganda from the U.S.

Twenty individuals have now been deported from the U.S. to Uganda under a new migration deal, with eight arriving recently after a U.S. judge approved their cases.
The Uganda Law Society continues to criticize the deportation process, labeling it illegal and dehumanizing, and plans to challenge it in court.
Uganda's foreign ministry states the agreement designates Uganda as a safe third country for migrants unable to return home due to persecution.
